Safety Link is a simple mechanical device injection moulded in high
impact polyproplyene. The unit is immensely strong and is designed to fit
over a wheel nut and interlink via a snap fit to the adjacent unit. When all
ten Safety Link units are correctly fitted they form a ring securing all ten
wheel nuts. Safety Link has been designed to fulfill two very important
functions. Regular inspection and diligent maintenance procedures are an
essential ingredient for safe and reliable operation of commercial vehicles;
the fitting of Safety Link units will encourage daily inspection. Any
movement of a wheel nut will be clearly evident via visual inspection
allowing immediate remedial action. In the event of a wheel nut coming
loose during a long journey resulting from poor or non existent
inspection Safety Link will lock the wheel nut in place after 7 degrees of
movement thus preventing wheel nut loss and the potential loss of a
wheel.
